Quizterix For Teachers
Quizterix gives your students a different learning experience. It is not designed to replace traditional methods but to augment them with brain-friendly ways to form cognitive schemas and memorize facts. After playing 4-5 rounds of Quizterix students will know 200 facts about 50 events and form a good understanding of the chronology of events, the main actors, continuity and change between multiple events, and - sometimes - simple entertaining trivia to strengthen schemas with knowledge that is easy to remember.
A Quick Start Guide
You can use Quizterix before, during, and after you teach the topic in class. Your students can play different variants of the game with different levels of difficulty. If they play a round or two ahead of being taught in the classroom, Quizterix will help with the hard work of forming a first understanding. Quizterix Treasure Hunt is a fast version of the game that anchors this knowledge without creating a cognitive overload with too much detail.
Quizterix Standard is a slower and more thoughtful variant of the game. It is particularly useful at the time the topic is taught in class when some deeper understanding of the topic is already in place. Existing knowledge will be revised and strengthened. New knowledge falls on fertile soil that allows it to be absorbed quickly and with little cognitive load.
Quizterix Snap is an ultra-fast version designed for revision and test preparation. It is designed to patch cognitive schemas in areas where forgetting has set in.
How does it work?
The standard Quizterix ruleset consists of players taking turns memorizing and recalling events, their dates, and factual knowledge associated with the events. It works best for players who already have some general knowledge about the events in place. The game can be adapted to allow novices and beginners to start out building their cognitive schemas
